This is the main privacy policy for the Rockup Group Proprietary Limited t/a Tregter and applies to any of our products or services which you use on any of our platforms, including our websites, mobile sites, mobile applications, emails or any other technology or service you use to access our products and services. “We”, “us” or “our” in this privacy policy refers to Rockup Group Proprietary Limited and its subsidiaries. The terms “personal information”, “special personal information” and “process/ing” when used in this document shall bear the meanings as set out in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.

  2. via accessing and utilising our website and/or platforms; and
  3. any information which you provide directly to us.
2. We only collect and use the minimum personal information we need in order to provide and improve our services and deliver relevant advertising.

  10. advertising identifiers (mobile advertising IDs, Google Advertising ID, Apple’s IDFA and cookie identifiers);
  11. interest categories, audience segments, and targeted advertising profiles;
  12. ad engagement metrics, conversion tracking, and cross-device linking information;
  13. social media data: information from connected platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and X;
  14. partner data: enhanced profiles from advertising technology partners, analytics providers, and data management platforms;
  15. content analysis: topics and themes of content consumed using IAB Content Taxonomy;
  16. preference profiles: inferred interests, seasonal behavior patterns, and contextual targeting information;
  17. transaction data: subscription purchases, payment preferences, and e-commerce behaviour; and
  18. security monitoring: login activities, fraud prevention data, and bot detection information.
INFORMATION FROM THIRD-PARTY SOURCES
- We may receive other information about you from third parties (where you have consented to such third party sharing your information with us, or where the sharing of your personal information with us is for our or your legitimate interest), including third party service providers using automated means like artificial intelligence tools, and combine it with the information we have collected about or received from you in other ways. We may also receive information about you when you log into our platforms using your social networking log-in details. All processing of your personal information, including processing using automated means, will be done in accordance with the law and the provisions of this privacy policy.
HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND RECEIVE
1. We use the information we collect and receive for the following general purposes:
  1. to identify you, verify your identity, create a user account for you and enter into a contract with you;

  3. to comply with any contractual obligations we have in respect of the provision of information, products or services to you;

  15. to provide effective advertising (for example to be provide you with news, special offers and general information about other goods, services and events which we offer, that are similar to those that you have already hired or enquired about).
2. We also use your personal information for research and statistical purposes. The research and statistics we get from this process do not include your personal information and cannot be linked to you, nor can you be identified from these statistics.
3. On some of our platforms, we may collect and process special personal information. We will only collect and process this information if you have explicitly consented to us collecting and processing this personal information and for the purpose for which you consented.
4. We will not use your personal information for any other purpose without your permission.
5. We keep your information for as long as we need it to provide our platforms, products or services to you, and are required or allowed by law or the contract between you and us, or you have agreed to us keeping your information.
6. We may also process your information using trusted artificial intelligence (“AI”) tools as part of our data processing operations. These AI tools are used to enhance the accuracy, speed, and scalability of our services. Where we use AI tools to process your information, we maintain strict oversight and human review to ensure that your information is handled with the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.
7. Where our use of AI tools involves the processing of special categories of information (including but not limited to information relating to health, minors, or financial information), we will obtain your explicit consent prior to such processing, unless another lawful basis is available and applicable under the relevant jurisdiction’s data protection laws.
HOW WE SHARE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND RECEIVE
1. We don’t sell your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
2. We may share information with:
  1. our affiliates, in other words, other companies in our group;
  2. we may disclose your personal information to a limited number of our employees and third party service providers (other than those who we refer you to), who we assist you to interact with;
  3. our business partners. We may share non-personally identifiable information with select business partners;
  4. other parties in response to legal process or when necessary to conduct or protect our legal rights;
  5. companies that provide services to us. Companies that provide services to us or act on our behalf may have access to information about you. These companies are limited in their ability to use information they receive in the course of providing services to us or you; and

We may also share your personal information with third parties, including our third-party service providers who may use AI tools, to process your personal information, provided that the third party has agreed to be bound by this privacy policy or similar terms which offer the same level of protection as this privacy policy.
4. We also share our research and statistical information with various third parties. However, this information does not include your personal information, cannot be linked to you and you cannot be identified from these statistics.
YOUR RIGHTS
1. You have the right to ask us not to contact you for marketing purposes. You can exercise this right at any time by using any of the various “opt-out” options that we will always provide to you when we communicate with you. We won’t send you marketing messages if you tell us not to but we will still need to send you service-related messages.
2. Our websites use cookies. If you wish to reject our cookies, you can configure your browser to do so.
3. You also have the right to request access to the information we have collected about you, request that we correct or update any incorrect or incomplete information, or under certain circumstances request a deletion of your personal information. We want to make sure that any data we hold about you is up to date. So, if you think your personal information is inaccurate, you can ask us to correct or remove it.
4. You may at any time lodge an objection with us regarding our collection and use of your personal information.
5. You have the right to lodge a complaint about how we process your personal information directly with any local data privacy authority. In South Africa, you can lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator at complaints.IR@justice.gov.za.
RETENTION OF DATA
- We will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy policy or to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
OUR COMMITMENT TO SECURITY
1. We have put in place administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your personal information and prevent loss, damage or unauthorised access to or disclosure of your information. These security safeguards are based on generally accepted information security practices and procedures which apply to the platforms, products and services we provide. We regularly check that these safeguards are correctly implemented and continually updated in response to new risks or any identified deficiencies.
2. Any information you submit to us through the internet is at your own risk. Once we receive your personal information, our security safeguards apply.
3. If we outsource any services to a third party that require the collection or use of your personal information, we put in place contracts that require these companies or people to respect the security of your personal information, treat it in accordance with the law, and collect and use it only for the purposes authorised by us.
TRANSFER OF DATA
1. We are based in and operate from South Africa. Your information, including personal information, may be transferred to and maintained on servers located outside of your country of residence, where the data privacy laws, regulations and standards, may not be equivalent to the laws in your country of residence.
2. We might transfer your personal information to places outside of South Africa and store it there, where our suppliers might process it. If that happens, your personal information will only be transferred to and stored in country that has equivalent, or better, data protection legislation than South Africa or with a service provider which is subject to an agreement requiring it to comply with data protection requirements equivalent or better than those applicable in South Africa.
